As the plant matures, its segmented stems cascade beautifully over the sides of pots, making it an excellent choice for hanging baskets, elevated planters and shelves. Delicate creamy-white flowers can appear along the edges of the stems, adding a lovely contrast against the rich green foliage.

Unlike traditional desert cacti, Rhipsalis prefers bright, filtered light and appreciates a little more moisture and humidity. Grow it in a loose, well-draining potting mix and water when the upper layer of the mix begins to dry, taking care not to leave the roots constantly wet.
