Camellia Black Tie 200mm

Camellia Black Tie is a truly elegant evergreen shrub, renowned for its exquisite formal double flowers in a rich, deep crimson-red. The perfectly arranged petals form beautifully symmetrical, rose-like blooms that look sensational against the plant’s glossy, dark green foliage.

Flowering through the cooler months, Black Tie provides a magnificent splash of colour when many other plants are quiet. Its dense evergreen growth also gives year-round structure to the garden, making it an excellent choice as a feature shrub, informal screen, hedge or an impressive specimen in a large decorative pot.

Black Tie prefers a sheltered position with morning sun or filtered light and protection from harsh afternoon sun. Plant in fertile, slightly acidic, well-drained soil enriched with organic matter. Keep moisture consistent, particularly during bud development and flowering.

Tip: Camellias have shallow root systems, so spread a generous layer of organic mulch around Black Tie to help keep its roots cool and moist. Keep the mulch a few centimetres away from the trunk, and water deeply during dry periods while flower buds are developing for a spectacular winter display.
