Westringia Fruticosa Zena 200mm
Westringia Zena is a beautiful, compact Australian native shrub with dense, fine-textured grey-green foliage and masses of delicate white flowers. Its naturally neat, rounded habit gives it a polished appearance with very little effort, making it an excellent choice for both contemporary and traditional gardens.
The small white flowers appear amongst the foliage over an extended period and are particularly abundant during spring. They are also attractive to bees and other beneficial pollinators, adding extra life to the garden.
Hardy, adaptable and wonderfully low maintenance, Zena is ideal for low hedging, borders, mass planting, coastal gardens, rockeries and large pots. It tolerates wind, salt spray and dry conditions once established, making it particularly useful in exposed coastal locations. It responds extremely well to clipping if a more formal shape is desired.
Plant in full sun to light part shade in well-drained soil. Regular watering while establishing will help develop a strong, healthy plant, after which it becomes quite drought tolerant.
Tip: For a beautifully dense hedge, lightly tip-prune Westringia Zena while it is young rather than waiting until it becomes large. Regular light trimming encourages branching right from the base, giving you a much fuller, neater plant.
