Unlike traditional desert cacti, Rhipsalis naturally enjoys filtered light and a little more moisture, making it an excellent choice for hanging baskets and elevated pots where its graceful stems can spill freely over the edges. As the plant matures, the cascading growth creates a lush, dramatic display.

For best results, grow in bright indirect or filtered light in a loose, well-draining potting mix. Water when the upper layer of mix begins to dry, taking care not to leave the roots sitting in constantly wet soil.

Tip: Rhipsalis loves humidity but dislikes waterlogged roots. A hanging basket in bright filtered light with good airflow is ideal, and an occasional light trim will encourage branching and create an even fuller cascading display.
