This dwarf, clump forming plant produces grass like, dark green leaves and upright spikes of rounded, and bell shaped, blue purple flowers in late spring. It is widely used in landscaping as a groundcover, and is also suitable for planting between pavers, in rockeries, mixed borders and in containers. It thrives in a partly shaded position in moist, well drained soil. It also tolerates light frost and periods of dryness. This plant responds well to pruning and feeding in winter and you will be rewarded with fresh, lush growth in early spring.
