Its round roots feature vibrant orange-pink skins, with an interior of red and white rings—often called a "candy stripe" or bullseye pattern. When cooked, the bold colours soften to a delicate pink, while retaining their sweet, tender flavour. The plant also has glossy, dark green leaves and striking ruby-red stems.

Chioggia offers a mild, succulent taste and a smooth texture that’s perfect for roasting, slicing raw into salads, or pickling.
