Avocado ‘Hass’ is the most popular and widely grown variety in Australia, loved for its rich, creamy texture, nutty flavour, and excellent keeping qualities. Its distinctive, pebbly-textured skin changes from bright green to deep purple-black as it ripens, making it easy to tell when it’s ready to enjoy. Perfect for salads, sandwiches, dips, and guacamole, ‘Hass’ produces medium-sized fruit with smooth, buttery flesh and a small seed.

This reliable variety thrives in warm, frost-free climates and performs best in well-drained soil with plenty of sunlight.

Tip: For healthy growth and strong fruiting, plant in a sheltered position protected from strong winds, and mulch well to retain moisture and keep roots cool. If planting two trees, space them at least 5 metres apart to allow for mature canopy growth.
