The Imperial mandarin is a very popular commercial variety that’ll be right at home in the backyard, too. The overall tree is medium sized, growing from 2 – 4m tall with a nice, upright and compact growth habit.
The fruit is medium-sized with quite a strong and sweet flavour and ripens May to July. The segments can also be quite juicy, too. Imperials also have a thin outer skin that’s relatively easy to peel.
