The Eureka lemon is a backyard classic the fruit can grow quite large and has a good amount of juice with that tangy, stereotypical ‘lemon’ flavour . Eureka lemons have a nice thick skin which makes it ideal for zesting and the juice itself has a good acidic content that’s suitable for cooking, baking, and drinks. The tree can produce quite heavily with fruit mainly ripening in winter, though it can spot fruit during the spring and summer as well.
They’re a strong grower that’s relatively upright, reaching up to 6m, though regular pruning will encourage a bushier growth habit at a height that’s much easier to trim and maintain.
